Welcome To London: Day One
So we arrived in London today..or yesterday?? Who even knows. Our first flight took off 45 minutes late and our connection flight left 6 minutes early. You should have seen it. An airport scene straight out of the movies...running through customs and down the airport halls like crazy people. So we were stuck in San Francisco for six hours. Drag? I'd say so. But we got upgraded to business class and enjoyed hot towels and a lot of food that wasn't all that great.
Eventually we got here. We went grocery shopping. On the way Iearned the laws on right-of-way...pedestrians don't have it. I got honked at in the middle of the road so I yelled and dared the guy to hit me. I'm still alive. Susan wins. Still, Europeans drive like maniacs. I fit right in. ;)
We learned how to ride the tube and no exciting stories came from that.
We walked around Westminster and saw Big Ben and all the old fancy buildings you hear about all the time. Yay! It's so much better in person! Cooler than you'd even imagine.
On or 6 hour layover at San Fransisco we admired this huge piece of art was created with 3"x3" tiles. The artist took a blank tile with him everday and painted on his lunch break or on the bus.
Just as I imagined a London street would be...underground signs and double-decker buses around every turn.
I really knew I was in London when I saw this huge bell tower. Wow!!
I look like a tiny ant standing in front of such an incredible building.
I love the great views. Catching a glimps of the high towers over beutiful green trees.
